You get overtime pay when you work more than your normal shift hours, on your assigned days off, or in some cases, more than a certain number of hours in a week.
The specifics depend on your shift schedule:
For 8-hour shifts: Overtime is paid for hours worked over 8 in a day or over 40 in a week.
For 10-hour shifts: Overtime is paid for hours worked over 10 in a day.
For 12-hour shifts: Overtime is paid for hours worked over 12 in a day.
How much you get paid:
Typically, the first four hours of overtime are paid at time and a half (1.5x) your regular rate.
Hours worked beyond that are paid at double time (2x).
Working on a Sunday also gets you premium pay, which is at least time and a half and can go up to double time, especially if it's also a day off or extends beyond your regular hours.

Your vacation time increases with your years of continuous service.
After 1 year: 18 days
After 2 years: 23 days
After 3 years: 28 days
After 4 years: 33 days
Your vacation pay is a percentage of your gross earnings from the previous year.
When You Can Take Vacation:
Vacations can be scheduled all year, but there are rules for popular times.
Summer: A 15-week "summer vacation period" runs from about June to September. A rotation system (Group A and Group B) ensures everyone gets a fair chance to book a summer vacation in odd or even-numbered years.
Holidays: A certain percentage of employees in each department can go on vacation during Christmas and Easter.
Off-Season: Any time outside of summer, Christmas, and Easter is considered off-season.
You can split your vacation into two or three periods, but only one can be during the summer. The shortest vacation you can take is seven days.
Off-Season Bonus: You get an extra $110 per week (or $15.71 per day) if you take your vacation during the off-season.
Extended Vacation (EV): Every five years, you qualify for an extra-long vacation.
After 5 years of service, you get 5 weeks of EV.
After 10 years of service, you get 9 weeks of EV.
You get another 9 weeks of EV for each additional 5-year period of service.
Travel Allowance: You get $1,550 once per year for you and your family when you take your annual vacation. To get this, you must take at least seven days of vacation.
Train Passes: You and your immediate family are entitled to two free round-trip train passes per year between Labrador City and Sept-Iles or Schefferville. This also includes free transportation for your car and a trailer/camper/boat twice a year.

You get a hot lunch when you work overtime in these specific situations:
Working late: If you work more than two (2) hours of overtime right after your regular shift, you will receive a hot lunch.
Working a double shift: If you work a full overtime shift right before your regular shift, you will get a hot lunch early into your regular shift.
You also get a choice of a hot or cold beverage to go with your hot lunch.
Good to know:
If your overtime after a regular shift goes beyond four (4) hours, you will also be given a cold lunch.
You will not get a hot lunch if the overtime is part of certain shift changes (specifically T.D. 71 or 49).
